Terrible Two's

Here I am at 2 years old (and I'm especially loving the ruffles). Notice how pleasant and cooperative I am. I'm smiling and looking like a happy little toddler.

Gracie is no such toddler. She will look for anything that might cause problems and head straight for it. I went to the mall this morning for a little walk and Christmas shopping and everyone "Ooohed" and "Aaahed" over her and her curly hair. If only they knew the truth.

So for Christmas, I'm purchasing "1-2-3 Magic: Effective Disciple for Children" recommended to me by my cousin Angie for myself (Thanks, Robby :).

And as there is no baby in the near future, Gracie is my main focus.

She's gonna listen to me whether she likes it or not!

It's ok, I still love her.

That picture is soooooooo cute! love it! That book sounds like a good one... good luck! I really don't think you give yourself enough credit, tho. Kids are just different... Besides, YOU had to be good.... there were more for you mom to deal with that just you. Gracie needs to train you... that's her job. It would get kind of boring if she never got into anything!! :>) xoxox

I love pictures of you when you were a little kid, because your face looks exactly the same today as it did then. You were CUTE! I am proud of you for getting that book. Keep it on hand because I'll probably need to borrow it in a couple of years. Love you!

Excuse me, but those are the same curls that all the teenagers are trying to get now! How did you have such perfect hair?!

Now I want to hear from your Mom. Were you really as perfect as the picture?

what in the world. i LOVE this pic! i'm so glad you found it and got it out for the world to see - it's fantastic. i'm sure we'd all love to see more.

i'm glad to hear gracie has some of those typical 2-yr-old traits and gets into trouble, because i was just thinking today about how Lilly has started to pout if she doesn't get her way and does a baby voice where she won't talk to me in real words on purpose, or she'll tell me to "stop talking" or "be quiet, mom", and whatnot, all stuff that I think is pretty normal for this age but I'm not sure how to deal with. Anyway, I thought about how nice it is that Gracie can't talk back to you and seems to be so content to just play. So, I'm glad to hear at least that she's givin' you a run-for-your-money, too, so I'll be able to benefit from whatever research you do on how to handle our two-year-olds. Keep me posted. :)

What an adorable picture! You have always been and still are a cutie. I hope you find the 1-2-3 Magic book helpful. Eliot and I have had success with it. Let me know how it goes. Good luck!

First of all, that picture of you is out of control ADORABLE!!
My 2nd little girl gave me a run for my money and my SIL Amy, recommended the book Parenting the Ephraim's Child. It was very interesting and gave me a different perspective to look at things. I know how it is when you're at your wits end. Anything helps! And she lived to see 3. She's now 3 1/2 and we're both doing much better. There is light at the end of the tunnel. ;)
