Celebration

Here is Gracie on her birthday in her new birthday dress. The entire day was a success filled with family bonding. We started the day with a trip to Target. Earlier in the week, we somehow lost our camera and I've searched every nook and cranny of this huge house for it every day this week. I have no idea what could have happened to it, but we needed a camera for Gracie's birthday so we went to Target to get a new one. We love it and didn't have to spend near as much as we thought we would. It's a Christmas present for us.

After Target, we went to the Library then the movie store then home. We tried to get Gracie to take a nap so she would be happy for present and cake, but she would have none of that. She watched me decorate her cake and kept saying "Bir-day!" every time she saw it. After lunch, we did the singing and present opening. The only wrapped presents she had we're from her Grandpa and Grandma Holmes because we could not resist giving her our presents over the past week. She had a great time blowing out her candles and ripping open her presents then playing for an hour with her toys.

We spent the rest of the day relxing and playing together. I think she had a pretty good 3rd birthday. She's going to be so sad when she realizes it's going to be another year before she has her next birthday. But at least I can comfort her with talk of Christmas.

In other news, we've found out we won't be able to close on our house until right before or right after Christmas. So we will be in QC for Christmas and hopefully into our new house by New Year's but there are certainly no guarantees at this point.

Alannah has that dress except in light pink and white. I got it in two different sizes because it was a cute dress. Glad it was a good day with her. My kids always want their birthday to come. We need to get together sometime, I am off work starting on the 22nd. Just let me know when a good time is for you.

Happy Birthday Gracie! Sounds like a great day- as long as there's cake and a couple presents, kids consider it a birthday party and they're happy.
